Talk about comfort food! Here’s a recipe from Wood and Spoon that I couldn’t pass up. “Peanut Butter Cup Bars” feature three lovable layers: a crunchy bottom crust made with coarsely chopped pretzels; a sweetened peanut butter layer; and a dreamy, rich chocolate layer on top.
Bake the pretzel crust in a square pan for 20 minutes. I mixed the peanut-butter filling by hand, rather than messing with my mixer. Easy enough.
I did melt the chocolate in a double boiler. The thick, melted chocolate -- swirling and glossy -- smells great.
Zero stress, here. Chill until firm, then slice your bars.
Rather than cutting this into 16 (tiny) bars, I sliced nine bars.
You’ll want to eat more and more.
